Egmont Publishing Group is launching a new teen magazine called We Love Pop
Egmont, which publishes a range of children’s magazines, said it was designed to ‘capture the resurgence of momentum in pop music in the UK”.
The 86-page monthly magazine is aimed at teen girls aged 13-15 and will be launched with an initial print run of 200,000.
The first issue comes out on 20 July with a cover price of £1.
It is edited by Malcolm Mackenzie and the first issue features interviews from stars including The Wanted
The magazine will be complemented by the website www.welovepopmag.co.uk and an extensive marketing campaign including point-of-sale activity withretailers Tesco, Asda, Co-op, Sainsbury’s Morrisons and WHS Travel.
There will also be an outdoor advertising campaign across 30 London bus routes
Mackenzie said: ‘Pop music and following the antics of pop stars has always been a fundamental part of growing up, but it has seen a real resurgence in the past couple of years.
‘With pop domination of the charts, and a host of TV shows like Glee and X Factor feeding the buzz, we believe the time is right to bring the pop world to life for a new generation of teens.”
