The Bradford Telegraph & Argus has recruited a new City Hall reporter in the run-up to the June local elections.
Jason Teesdale has joined from Leeds-based internet news service Ananova where he began as a reporter, before becoming science correspondent.
He then has a spell on newsdesk before becoming a producer sub.
After graduating from Liverpool University he began his journalistic career in Cheshire on the Warrington Guardian and in 1997 moved to the Liverpool Echo, where he was district reporter for the metropolitan borough of Knowsley for three years.
“The politics side of reporting appealed to me and it gave me the opportunity to move into a more newsy area,” he explained.
“I have never specialised in this way on a newspaper so I am really looking forward it.
“The local elections are coming up in June and the entire council is up for re-election, so this is an exciting time to take up the position and there is great potential for change.”
