New figures from the UK Internet Advertising Bureau suggest massive growth in mobile advertising fuelled by the growth in UK smartphone usage.
It estimates total mobile advertising for 2012 up to £526m (from £203.2m in 2011) with total digital advertising up £607m to £5.42bn for the year. This compares with total internet advertising of just £200m in 2002.
According to IAB, advertising on Smartphones comprises: display advertising, £150m and search, £365m.
