Forbes Mutch, the editor of Caterer & Hotelkeeper magazine, has stepped up to become group editor with a focus on developing the catering group business as a whole.
Mark Lewis, managing editor of Caterer & Hotelkeeper is to take his place as editor.
Mutch will be responsible for developing the magazine’s website and various spin-offs as well as drawing up strategies for other titles in the group.
The portfolio owned by Reed Business Information includes the monthly Catering Update, Caterer & Hotelkeeper’s website caterer-online.
com and the research report Market Pulse.
Mutch said the move was simply confirmation of his role over the past few months, which has seen Lewis become increasingly involved in the day-to-day running of the title and Mutch focusing more on the development side.
The group editor said he would continue to “fly the flag” in terms of representing the title and catering group at industry events.
There are believed to be a number of conference and web proposals in the pipeline but no plans to re-launch Caterer & Hotelkeeper, he added.
Mutch has edited the weekly for seven years, having joined the magazine from Flight International, where he was deputy editor.
Commenting on his plans for Caterer & Hotelkeeper, Lewis said he wanted the title to work even harder in representing the views of its readers through opinions and ideas as well as helping to develop the careers of those at the junior end of the industry.
The changes are for an initial sixmonth period.
