Mixmag reveals new look

By Press Gazette

Clubbing magazine Mixmag will reveal a new look next week inspired by a US format, writes Ruth Addicott.

The Transmitter news section has been expanded to take up almost half of the magazine. The album and compilation reviews and ‘Big Tunes’ have been moved to the front of the magazine and there is a new DJ-orientated singles section at the back.

Editor Tom Whitwell said the same layout was used by many US titles. He said the aim was to put more emphasis on the readers and make clubs, in places such as the North East, look more glamorous by sending fashion photographers to capture the moment.

Gavin Herlihy has been promoted from listings editor to news editor and features editor Viv Craske has moved up to take on the senior editor role.
