A 52-year-old man has been arrested by the Met’s computer hacking unit Operation Tuleta.
The man was arrested this morning on suspicion of Computer Misuse Act offences and is currently in custody at a Thames Valley Police station.
Operation Tuleta was established in July to investigate a number of breach of privacy allegations received by the Met since since January.
The investigation is also examining the use of “Trojan horse” computer viruses which allow hackers to take control of third-party computers.
A Met statement said: ‘This morning, Thursday, 24 November officers from Operation Tuleta arrested a 52-year-old man [1] on suspicion of Computer Misuse Act offences.
“The man is currently in custody at a Thames Valley Police station.
“Operation Tuleta is investigating a number of allegations regarding breach of privacy, received by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) since January 2011, which fell outside the remit of Operation Weeting, including computer hacking.”
