Free London business daily City AM is launching what it claims is the world's first "Bluecast" today.
The
paper is offering commuters the chance to download its daily
five-minute podcast direct to their mobile phones. They will be able to
do so via Bluetooth at Liverpool Street and Waterloo stations.
City
AM managing director Lawson Muncaster said: "Our podcast service
continues to go from strength-to-strength. Last week we topped the
iTunes business podcast chart for the first time — ahead of the FT,
WSJ, BBC Radio 5 and BBC Radio 4 podcasts — just three months after
launching.
"We are very excited by this week's innovative launch
with Capital Spreads. It's a real innovation to bringing business news
on the go to commuters' mobiles as they head home from work."
