Leading actor is latest celeb to gag press with privacy injunction

By Dominic wireposts

A leading actor has become the latest high-profile figure to use a High Court Injunction to stop journalists writing about his private life.

According to The Telegraph the High Court order stopped a woman identified as BDZ and a third person from speaking to a newspaper about him.

The Telegraph reports that this brings the total to at least 30 celebrities who have used injunctions to stop media publication of private information over the last two years including seven footballers, 10 film or TV stars and five pop musicians.

Last month Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming used the protection of parliamentary privilege to reveal that an individual involved in litigation surrounding the use of toxic material in water tanks had been hit with a “hyper injunction” preventing them from even talking about the matter to MPs.
