LBC signs up Bloomberg for breakfast show

By Press Gazette

LBC News 1152AM, owned by the Chrysalis Group, has entered the world of business news coverage by signing up financial information provider Bloomberg to supply a 90minute early business breakfast show.

The London-based rolling news station says airing Bloomberg Business Breakfast will enable it to “go headtohead” with BBC Radio Five Live’s business coverage.

Bloomberg Business Breakfast, launching on LBC on 26 April, will air between 5am and 6.30am Monday to Friday, up against Five Live’s Wake Up to Money programme. It will be broadcast from Bloomberg’s London HQ, featuring its own journalists.

Jonathan Richards, LBC News editorial director, said: “London is one of the world’s major finance hubs and we know our listeners appreciate fast, accurate and authoritative business news. Bloomberg Business Breakfast will be a key destination for our businessminded audience.”
