LBC 97.3 fm has secured veteran broadcaster Sir David Frost to anchor its election night coverage.
The programme will also be broadcast on sister station LBC News and across the USA on the National Public Radio network.
Frost,
who is retiring from the BBC’s Breakfast with Frost after the general
election, has never covered an election night on radio before despite
being in broadcasting for 40 years.
The BBC has yet to reveal who will take over from Frost on the Sunday morning current affairs show.
Frost
has interviewed the last six British Prime Ministers, the last seven
Presidents of the United States and many others outside politics,
including Muhammad Ali and the Beatles.
LBC managing director
Mark Flanagan, said: “Sir David is an iconic figure with a formidable
reputation and profile who will lend enormous credibility to our
general election coverage.”
