Lady Gaga is to guest-edit all 17 editions of the international edition Metro newspaper next month.
The singer will guest-edit the 17 May edition of the free paper as part of the promotion ahead of the release of her latest album, highlighting issues around equality and individuality in her paper that day.
Lady Gaga will select stories and provide her comments on the breaking news of the day from the London office of Metro World News, Metro’s central newsdesk.
“We’re thrilled to have Lady Gaga take the helm of our newspapers for the day. Together with Lady Gaga, Metro World News and our local teams will produce a one-of-a-kind newspaper on May 17,” said Maggie Samways, global editor-in-chief.
“Lady Gaga is an extraordinary artistic force, so I’m confident that the edition will reflect her personality: creative, inspiring and surprising!”
Not to be confused with the UK free paper owned by Daily Mail & General Trust, the global free Metro newspaper is one of the world’s largest international papers.
The Stockholm-based title is published in more than 100 cities across 20 countries across Europe, North & South America and Asia.
As part of Lady Gaga’s guest-editorship Metro is running a competition for a reader to serve as her editorial assistant in London.
