Control of Adline, the Birmingham-based magazine targeting the regional advertising scene, has passed to the Carnyx Group, publisher of The Marketeer, Drum and Prospect Architecture in Scotland.
The Marketeer is to be merged into Adline with a relaunch date set for May. Carnyx publisher Gordon Young said six redundancies were planned and staff were being consulted.
But he revealed that the merged magazine, Adline incorporating The Marketeer, would be edited by Marketeer editor Richard Draycott. He said he was discussing a possible future role with Adline editor Kurt Jacobs, former deputy business editor at the Birmingham Post.
Ownership of Adline Publishing will now rest 75 per cent in the hands of Carnyx Group and 25 per cent with previous owner Wilmington Group.
Young said Adline incorporating The Marketeer would relaunch in May with a new design, format and editorial positioning that would see it act as a bridge between agencies and clients.
He said there were also plans to launch Prospect Architecture magazine in Manchester.
