Home Cinema Choice celebrates its 100th issue

By Press Gazette

Home Cinema Choice is celebrating its 100th issue with a bumper 228-page edition.

The Christmas edition, out on 18 December, will feature a round-up of the past 100 issues and the development of home entertainment such as DVDs.

Highbury WV launched the magazine in October 1995 before DVDs had hit the mainstream and when most of its readers were using VHS videos and laser discs to watch films at home.

Home Cinema Choice claims to have published the world’s first test of a DVD. In addition to reviewing the magazine’s coverage over the years, the anniversary issue also looks ahead to its future, with quotes from expert commentators in the field.

Editor and publisher Steve May said: “Home Cinema Choice has carved itself an international reputation due to the quality of its editorial and its insightful reviews of cutting-edge home electronics.

“To notch up 100 issues is a major milestone and with interest in home cinema reaching an all-time high, there’s a very exciting future ahead for the magazine.”
