The Times Education Supplement this week unveils the results of a £5 million revamp.
It follows the purchase of TSL Education by Exponent Private Equity from News International for £235 million in October 2005.
The David Hillman redesign is aimed at achieving "a distinctive contemporary style".
It is accompanied by a move away from News International's presses to the Johnston Press-owned Dinnington print plant, South Yorkshire, which allows colour on every page.
Central to the relaunch is the new TES Magazine, with 64 glossy colour pages.
