Hertford Times

By Press Gazette

Following the success of its Potters Bar edition, the Welwyn & Hatfield Times has added another title to its series.

The Hertfordshire-based newspaper, part of Archant, launched the Hertford Times last week. The title has a dedicated editorial and advertising team.

Series editor Terry Mitchinson said: “We have enjoyed increasing circulation in our core area of Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield and in Potters Bar, where we are a must-read for local people. We are always looking at areas where we can expand and felt that nearby Hertford, less than 10 miles from Welwyn Garden City, was an obvious choice.”

The regional director of Archant Hertfordshire and North London, Garry Matthews, said: “This is the third of a number of new launches planned for this year within the region. The Hertford Times is a credit to the hard work and enthusiasm of staff across all departments and as a business we will continue to seek and develop opportunities wherever we consider there to be a gap in the market.”
