Newsquest is launching a free newspaper in the west end of Glasgow at the end of this month.
The West End Mail will be a weekly distributed to more than 30,000 households in one of Scotland’s most prosperous communities.
Steve
McLaughlin, publisher of the new title, said: “We are positive that
readers in the west end of Glasgow will welcome the arrival of a
genuinely local, quality weekly newspaper.”
Tim Blott, managing
director of Newsquest (Herald and Times), said: “We are delighted to be
launching a weekly newspaper into such an exciting market, and we are
sure that the West End Mail will prove to be popular with readers and
highly effective for advertisers.”
The company already publishes
The Herald, Sunday Herald and Glasgow Evening Times. The weekly will be
printed at the company’s plant in Cambuslang.
