Eight journalists have been made redundant after two home improvement magazines merged.
Centaur has bought Real Homes from Hachette Filipacchi, and merged it with its own title, Move Or Improve?
As a result, Hachette has made Real Homes’ eight editorial staff redundant.
A Hachette spokeswoman said the staff were consulted throughout the sale, and that they left last month.
The last Hachette-published edition of Real Homes was the February edition. In the first half of 2008, it had a circulation of 67,030, according to ABC.
The new, merged title, published by Centaur, will be called Real Homes rather than Move Or Improve, and is out on 4 February.
Michael Holmes, editor-in-chief of Centaur titles Period Living and Homebuilding & Renovating, will oversee Real Homes.
Caron Bronson, editor of Move or Improve? and formerly of the BBC’s Good Homes, will edit the newly-merged title.
