The Periodical Publishers Association’s ‘Magazines Week’initiative is drawing to a close today, after a series of events designed to promote the diversity of the industry.

As part of this, the PPA brought together 44 editors and staff for a photoshoot in which they were asked to dress up as their title.

ACP-Natmags’ Real People magazine took two real readers to the shoot, while Coast’s editor Clare Gogerty came dressed as a lobster and Amanda Clifford of Dinomite appeared as a triceratops dinosaur.

A horse, car and Dennis the Menace completed the line-up. Other events included a ‘flashmob’at Waterloo station, where 40 people met for a two-minute magazine read during the rush hour in a guerilla-marketing exercise.

The PPA also set up a magazines ‘laboratory’in Guildford, with readers’ magazine habits in the town tracked for a month.
