Carole Hamilton has quit as editor of You & Your Wedding after 11 years in the post.
Hamilton, who has to get up at 5.30am for a three-hour daily commute to and from Soho from her home in Amersham, said: “I want a bit more quality time for me. I commute a long way and I want to spend some more time with my little boy.”
Hamilton said there were only three bridal magazines in the market when she took over as editor. Today there are about 11, including the one-shots.

Prior to You & Your Wedding, Hamilton worked as a freelance fashion and beauty stylist for titles such as Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping.
She also worked on the launches of Me and Essentials and was launch editor of Hair Flair at the age of 19.
Hamilton has just finished writing a book on weddings and said she hoped to do some freelancing as well as writing more books in her free time.
