The Liverpool Echo is supporting a campaign to create 2,008 jobs in Liverpool by 2008 when the city will become European Capital of Culture.
The paper is working with a body called the Merseyside Special Investment Fund, which has £80m of grants to give to small businesses. Only jobs directly linked to the “Kickstart” campaign will count towards the target.
The paper will support the project by publishing appeals for budding entrepreneurs to come forward and printing the stories of people who have already been helped by the MSIF.
