Stock photo agency Alamy has reported a 15.6 per cent decline in first-quarter UK revenues.
Income in the UK dropped from £2.24m in the first three months of 2008 to £1.89m in the same period this year.
There were similar declines at Alamy’s US division – down 10.5 per cent from $2.63m to $2.35m – and in Europe, where revenue fell by a quarter from €753,000 to €565,000.
The company last summer introduced a “micropayment” scheme allowing bloggers and social networks to buy images for as little as 60p. The scheme was trialled in the UK and has since gone global.
