Co-op launch

By Press Gazette

The Co-op is following in the footsteps of other supermarkets by launching a customer magazine, Simply Co-op.

The
free quarterly title, published by River Publishing, will be
doordropped to customers in the catchment areas of 214 Co-op stores,
and stresses the chain’s responsible retailing policies, such as
Fairtrade and honest labelling.

Simply Co-op is the supermarket’s
first attempt at a customer magazine since Your Choice closed seven
years ago in favour of more direct marketing.

Jeff Howarth, local
marketing manager for the Co-operative Group, said: “Simply Co-op will
be an excellent communication tool for us, and is intended to
reposition the Co-op brand in the customer mindset by informing readers
about the Co-op and its values, as well as providing great recipes and
ideas.”
