Bernard Gray, chief executive of CMP Information has also been
appointed as chief executive of United Advertising Publications. Gray
will combine the two roles.
UAP, is United Business Media’s
specialist classified advertising business incorporating magazines such
as Exchange & Mart and Dalton’s Weekly.
The business has
recently been boosted by the £21m acquisition of The Publican
publishing and event assets from Quantum Business Media.
CMPi
publishes around 40 magazines and has over 30 exhibitions, 15
directo-ry and information products and a growing number of websites
and online solutions.
The combined organisation of CMPi and UAP
represents annual revenues in excess of £200m and it will have around
1,700 employees, the vast majority of which will be based in the UK.
Commenting
on the move Gray said: “I’ve been impressed by what I’ve seen at UAP
and believe we can exploit the latent potential from our combined
operations.”
