Camden New Journal’s protest march draws ‘thousands’

If you ever needed a example of the importance of good local newspaper campaigning, then here it is:

A campaign by the Camden New Journal and Islington Tribune to save the Accident and Emergency department at their local Whittington Hospital culminated in a protest march on Saturday.

The newspapers helped organise for an open-top bus and a number of bands to lead the march through Islington, which they claim attracted thousands of supporters, as it snaked thought North London the Hospital in Archway.

New Journal and Islington Tribune had a team of twelve reporters and photographers to cover the event. A number of them have written about the day, read their views here.
