Blair ‘snubs’ 7/7 petition

By Press Gazette

The News of the World has accused Tony Blair of snubbing their “What About the Victims” campaign.

On
Friday, victims of the 7 July bombing delivered a 10,000 signature
petition to Number 10, backed by the News of the World, but they were
not granted a meeting with the Prime Minister. The NoW campaign is
demanding that victims of terror are given parity with victims in civil
cases in terms of compensation.

A Downing Street spokesman said:
“The Prime Minister has a great deal of meetings and other Government
business and wasn’t able to see them on this occasion.”
