BBC Magazines has hired Sue Price, the former editor of M&S Magazine and Lulu Grimes, a former assistant to Delia Smith, ahead of the launch of its food title, code-named ‘Project Olive’.
Price has taken on the role of launch project editor and will work closely with executive editor and BBC Good Food editor Orlando Murrin on developing the title for its launch on newsstands later this year.
Prior to editing the M&S Magazine at Redwood, Price was freelance and assistant editor on Woman’s Journal and acting editor of Marie Claire Health & Beauty.
Grimes, who spent three years as a cookery assistant to Delia Smith, joins from Food & Travel Magazine as a fulltime food editor. She has also worked on Sainsbury’s Magazine.
The launch has been in working progress for the past 12 months.
Publishing director Ashley Munday said it was set to become “one of the most exciting launches ever for BBC Magazines”.
Murrin said: “I can’t tell you how delighted I am to have such hot talent on board. ‘Olive’ is my baby and with Sue and Lulu with us I know the magazine will grow into something amazingly special.”
A full-time editor for the title is due to be revealed shortly.
The appointments come just weeks after the announcement of another new food title for the UK, Delicious, the biggest-selling glossy food magazine in Australia.
