The BBC will next week begin a season of programming looking at the attitudes of the British working class, a group whose voices “have been all but ignored”.
Writing in the Daily Mail, the BBC’s commissioner for documentaries, Richard Klein, says: “The very fact that such a move is treated as controversial is a measure of how far they have been marginalised.
“We have a duty to reflect the views of all sections of the public, and the BBC is the right place to have a debate about these issues.”
