The BBC has appointed Andrea Callender as head of diversity.
Currently national director of Race for Opportunity, she will head the corporation’s aim to reflect the full diversity of the UK, both in its programming and its staff.
Callender said: “I am excited about the prospect of working with the BBC to make it a more diverse place and am looking forward to engaging with production teams to build on the progress made on air.”
She was recently involved in a BBC research project on understanding the multicultural audiences of the future.
