BBC defends EU loans
The BBC has insisted there were “no editorial obligations” attached to a series of loans it received from Brussels. The Sunday Express says the corporation received three loans totalling £141m from the European Investment Bank last year.
Frenzied bidding for Paxman’s boxers
Pantsgate update: BBC Crimewatch presenter Kirsty Wark has won a signed pair of Jeremy Paxman’s underpants at a charity auction. Wark paid £1,400 for the M&S boxers, after a round of “frenzied bidding”, the Mail on Sunday says.
Silverton sues over cosmetic surgery glitch
BBC newsreader Kate Silverton is suing the famous Harley Street cosmetic surgery clinic, according to the Mail on Sunday. The paper says Silverton was left unable to work for two weeks after “a simple skin rejuvenation procedure” left her face covered with “unsightly swellings”.
