The Bath Chronicle has launched a campaign highlighting the importance of the area’s independent retailers.
Campaign for Independents will examine the hard work that goes into setting up and running independent businesses and the difficulties they face.
The Chronicle will publicise up-and-coming shops in the high street as well as some of the success stories, which it says play an important role in Bath’s local economy.
Editor Sam Holliday said: “So many well-loved privately owned shops have been lost to the community in recent years and once these kind of stores go they hardly ever return. It is time we all took up the fight to protect them.”
Readers are being asked to nominate shops that should appear in the Chronicle, which is launching car and window stickers.
