ITN has completed the revamping of its political team for ITV News with the appointment of Angus Walker and Libby Wiener as political correspondents.
They join political editor Nick Robinson and senior political correspondent John Ray, both relatively recent appointments, on the political team. Wiener, a former royal correspondent, has been working as a news reporter for ITV News for the past year.
Walker has been working as a business producer and occasional news reporter for ITV News.
The political team will work across all ITV News services as well as on the ITV News Channel.
Derval Fitzsimons takes up the new post of head of news resources at ITV News.
ITN is abandoning its old format of having a roster of programme editors for its ITV programmes. It will now have dedicated programme editors for each of the main bulletins; Craig Oliver on the ITV Evening News, John Pullman on ITV’s News at Ten and Nick Phipps on ITV’s Lunchtime News.
Oliver, who moves from his position as programmed editor at Channel Four News, will also take on a new role as head of output.
