VNU may sell off its trade magazines business in Europe, it has announced.
The Netherlands based business-to-business publishers is considering the move as it explores “strategic alternatives” for its Business Media Europe (BME) group.
BME is a business-to-business media company across Europe. Its British titles include Accountancy Age, ComputerActive, Computing and Financial Director.
Despite the success of the business in moving into the digital arena with online media currently generating 25 per cent of advertising revenues, the company said it was considering a sale “because the group’s activities are not well aligned with VNU’s Marketing Information and Media Measurement businesses”.
It added that its U.S. based Business Information Group will not be part of a potential sale.
