Zoo
editor Paul Merrill (pictured) has been promoted to the new role of
international editor as part of the lads’ weekly’s plans for world
domination.
The title became the first men’s weekly to launch worldwide today when it unveiled its Spanish edition.
Its publisher, Emap, is working on plans to expand into other countries.
Anthony
Noguera, currently editor of Arena, has been promoted to editor-inchief
of Emap’s London lifestyle portfolio, working across both Arena and Zoo.
A
company spokesman said there were no immediate plans to appoint a new
editor for Zoo alone but that the situation might change.
Merrill
has been with Zoo since its launch 18 months ago, having originally
worked at IPC on plans for the launch of rival Nuts while editing
women’s weekly Chat.
