Standard’s Purseglove joins the Elle she loves

By Press Gazette

Elle has appointed former Evening Standard writer Anna Purseglove as features editor.

Purseglove succeeds Rachael Philipps, who left to move to New York in December.

Purseglove, left, became a staff writer on ES Magazine after winning an internship at the Evening Standard in 1997. In 2001 she decided to go freelance and has since written for Elle, The Observer, The Sunday Times, Harpers & Queen, Time Out and Marie Claire.

Commenting on her new role, Purseglove said: “I have a long-standing relationship with Elle, both as a writer and a freelance editor and I’m really excited to be joining the team of a magazine I love so much.”

Meanwhile, deputy editor Laurel Ives will move up to become acting editor following the departure of editor Sarah Bailey who joined Harpers Bazaar in the US as deputy editor-in-chief.
