Sunday Times social affairs correspondent Lois Rogers has left the Sunday Times after 14 years to start a freelance career.
Rogers, who joined the Sunday Times in 1993 to cover health, was made the paper's medical editor and then social affairs correspondent. She plans to freelance for the nationals and news magazines covering health and social affairs.
She said: "My leaving the Sunday Times is totally amicable. It is not good for you to do the same thing for ever."
Rogers joined the Sunday Times from the Evening Standard. She was on the staff of the Daily Express and Eddy Shah's Today.
Before that she worked for a string of nationals including The Sun, Sunday Mirror, the News of the World, Daily Mail and Sunday Express.
