Planet Hearts hits Scots streets

By Press Gazette

A new paper has been launched in Scotland by a team of journalists made redundant by Trinity Mirror’s Glasgow operation. Planet Hearts hit the streets at the weekend, with an initial print run of 10,000 copies, distributed across Edinburgh, Fife, the Lothians and Borders regions.

The 32-page full-colour tabloid focuses on Edinburgh’s Hearts FC, owned by Russian billionaire Vladimir Romanov.

Shaun Milne, former number two at the Scottish Daily Mirror, and Gerry Cassidy, who was assistant features editor at the Daily Record, are behind the ambitious new launch.
