Peace monument

By Press Gazette

Relatives of murdered Scottish journalist Malcolm Rennie are to return to the East Timor village where he was killed to help dedicate a monument to peace in his name.

The building where Rennie, his British cameraman Brian Peters and three colleagues from Australian broadcasting stations were killed by Indonesian troops in Balibo 27 years ago is to be turned into a community centre.

It will house a memorial in honour of the TV journalists who were covering the brutal invasion of the island by government soldiers
