Sunday Times Scotland editor Dean Nelson is to return to London to head the Insight team of the parent paper.
Londoner Nelson, 38, has been editor in Scotland since June 2001 after serving for a year as deputy editor. He had a brief spell at The Scotsman before joining The Sunday Times after seven years on The Observer.
Taking over as editor in Scotland is Les Snowdon, deputy sports editor of The Sunday Times, who previously headed the sports team in the Scottish office at Kinning Park.
The latest ABC figures show that Sunday Times Scotland’s circulation for the six months to the end of December was 80,238.
