Motor Cycle News appoints ‘target reader’ as editor

By Press Gazette

Marc Potter is the new editor of Emap’s Motor Cycle News, moving up from his role as managing editor, news, on the weekly.

Potter, joined MCN as a work experience trainee and worked on the news desk and the road-test desk where he eventually was promoted to road test editor. He was part of the MCN relaunch team in 1999 and 2002 and has been running the news desk for the past year.

Potter said: “I’ve ridden just about every bike built in the last 10 years, now it’s time to pass that excitement on to our readers. We’re going to return to our core values of delivering the most pertinent news from the world of bikes and bike sport first.

“We’re going to drop down ladders and make MCN faster and pacier. But most of all we’re going to celebrate motorcycling.” Adam Duckworth, publishing director of MCN, added: “Marc has an inherent understanding of what motorcyclists want – he is the target reader – and his judgement is second to none.

He will be a fantastic editor on MCN because he is a motivational leader who will bring bags of enthusiasm and charisma.”
