IPC Country and Leisure Media (CALM) has made Kim Hollamby its first
head of electronic media as part of its internet development strategy.
Hollamby,
currently group editor responsible for CALM’s internet development,
marine portal ybw.com and marine B2B title International Boating
Industry (IBI), will take on overall responsibility for the strategic
development of CALM’s 41 web brands. These include countrylife.co.uk,
decanter.com and horseandhound.co.uk.
IPC CALM managing director
Paul Williams said: “With the importance of websites to specialist
magazine titles and the resultant pace of our web development, Kim’s
new role will focus on driving forward these initiatives. With more
than 20 years experience in the marine publishing industry, he will
also retain consultative roles on ybw.com and IBI.”
Keith Walker
has been promoted to site editor for ybw.com, moving from his current
role as content manager at IPC Focus Network. IBI deputy editor Ed
Slack has been promoted to editor of IBI and IBINews.com.
Also at
IPC CALM, Steve Fairclough has been appointed editor of Hi-Fi News. He
joins the title from Stamp Magazine, which he has edited since June
1999, prior to which he worked for Amateur Photographer. He replaces
Steve Harris, who has edited the title since 1986.
Fairclough will be succeeded as editor at Stamp Magazine by Guy Thomas.
Thomas has been deputy editor of IPC CALM’s Motor Boats Monthly since July 2000, having joined the magazine in August 1989.
