Haymarket appoints Auto Trader man to run digital team

By Press Gazette

Haymarket has appointed former Auto Trader publishing director Jim Murray-Jones to head up its new digital leadership team and develop its multi-platform strategy.

Hee will work alongside digital editorial director Mark Payton, digital design director Bob Silver and development team leader Andrew Johnson. The team will report to Haymarket Magazines managing director Kevin Costello.

Murray-Jones said: "I am delighted to be joining Haymarket at such an exciting time in the evolution of online media. Haymarket impressed me with its readiness to invest in new content delivery formats as well as its strong track record in building consumer-focused websites".

Costello said: "This is an exciting and crucial step in our development as a multi-platform media company. [The team] will play a vital part in achieving our change away from a print-centric culture."

Murray-Jones was behind the strategic development of autotrader.co.uk and ran its mobile and digital television services.
