Fewer ITV News Channel staff face compulsory redundancy than originally estimated.
After a meeting between unions and ITV management on Tuesday this week it was confirmed that around 35 staff, rather than 70, as originally thought, face the sack. Negotiations between ITV management, the NUJ and Bectu over the fate of staff who worked at the channel are ongoing.
ITV have devised a redundancy offer which the NUJ is putting to members today (Friday 13 January).
The unions and ITV management are meeting again next week after members have been consulted.
