BBC World has launched a news programme, targeting the European evening peak time slot.
The programme, World News Today, is presented by Nik Gowing and broadcast from Monday to Thursday at 10pm CET.
BBC World head of news Richard Porter told Press Gazette: "Because our agenda is entirely international, we are much more likely to make use of correspondents in places around the world who would not get on to the 10 O'clock News at home very much."
Porter said the programme would not solely cover European news.
