Emap, the BBC and The Guardian were the main winners at this year’s Association of Online Publishers awards.
Emap produced three winners at the ceremony held by AOP, an industry
body representing online publishing companies that “create original,
branded, quality content”.
WhatsOn.com won launch of 2005,
Q4Music.com/blog the innovation award, while the online advertising
sales award went to Emap Automotive’s Parkers Online sales team.
The BBC’s radio download trial was given the award for use of a new digital platform. BBC.co.uk won the consumer website award.
Guardian
Newspapers gained the consumer online publisher award for
Guardian.co.uk. It won the award for consumer editorial team for
sporting websites on Guardian.co.uk/football and Guardian.co.uk/sport.
The AOP Chairman’s Award, presented by AOP chairman and Haymarket MD Bill Murray, went to Channel 4.
Reed
Business Information gained the award for business online publisher for
the second year running. It was also acclaimed in the commercial
partnership award.
Dennis Interactive’s MaximMag.co.uk won the
award for a cross-media project, and Centaur’s TheLawyer.com picked up
the business website award.
TSL Education won the business
editorial team award for TES.co.uk and the National Theatre’s
StageWork.org.uk claimed the design award
