Crash Test hires Emap creative

By Press Gazette

Crash Test Media, the media research and development agency founded by Mike Soutar, has appointed Matt Phare as its creative director. Phare is currently creative director of Emap's men's portfolio with responsibility for new projects and Zoo magazine. Previously he redesigned IPC's NME and NME.com in 2001, won designer of the year in 2002 for his work on Emap's women's titles, designed the relaunched More! in 2003 and worked on both the UK and international launches of Zoo.

Soutar (pictured) set up the outsourcing service for magazine publishers last month with Tim Ewington. He had been on gardening leave from IPC, where he announced his departure from the editorial director chair in June this year.
