Boost for Financial Sunday Express

By Press Gazette

The Financial Sunday Express has brought its team up to strength by recruiting three new staffers, writes Jean Morgan.

Press Association City editor Megan Davies is to join as economics reporter in March; Lawrie Holmes, former editor of Financial World, started this week as banking correspondent; and Amanda Harvey from The Scotsman has become telecoms, media and technology correspondent.

Davies is a replacement for David Hellier, who has left to join The Independent, and will work for the Daily Express in the first half of the week and the Financial Sunday Express in the second half.

Business editor David Parsley told Press Gazette: “We have been competing well against our rivals over the past year, even during a rebuilding process.

“Just over a year ago, few people even looked at this section – now it is very much required reading for those who want to know what the big stories are in the business world.

“Megan, Lawrie and Amanda are all great hires and I am delighted to have them on board. Our team is now up to strength and it will show – week-in, week-out.”
