Regional newspaper publisher Archant has reacted to rumours it is looking to acquire Trinity Mirror’s Southern titles with a statement highlighting that it intends to expand its business to the region.
Although the statement made clear the company does not comment on mergers until they are concluded, it said the company was ’embarking on a growth strategy through acquisition and organic development.
“It is now looking to strengthen its activities in the South East and, in particular, in geography which fits well with its current footprint.”
