Husband and wife journo team join News of the World

By Press Gazette

By Dominic Ponsford

Husband and wife Louise Oswald and Brian Roberts have been persuaded
to come back across the Atlantic from the National Enquirer to join the
News of the World.

The pair were part of the twenty-strong British brain drain which
crossed the Atlantic in April and May to join former Sun executive Paul
Field who now edits the New York-based supermarket tabloid.

Oswald
was working as associate editor for Closer magazine and is joining the
News of the World as editor of Sunday Magazine. She fills the job left
by Judy McGuire who heads up News Internationals new magazines division.

Roberts
had formerly been a photographer on the News of the World and he
rejoins as associate picture editor, number two on the picture desk to
Paul Bennet.

Oswald said: “I have had a brilliant time in New York working with a
talented team of Brits on the very exciting and successful relaunch of
The National Enquirer and now I am delighted to be returning to News of
The World to edit Sunday magazine with Caroline Peal and the fantastic,
professional team. I’m also honoured to be following in the footsteps
of Judy McGuire. “
