Former Harlow College student Alan Rusbridger, now editor of The
Guardian , returned to his roots to mark the journalism training
centre’s 40th birthday.
During his visit Rusbridger talked about
the future of journalism and said the role of journalists was to report
the news as it is at that moment. He also helped release 40 balloons to
mark the occasion.
Harlow’s courses, and degrees are accredited
by both the periodicals training council and the National Council for
the Training of Journalists. It was the first training centre of its
kind and famous alumni include Piers Morgan, Kelvin MacKenzie and
Richard Madeley.
