Wells joins Financial Times

By Press Gazette

David Wells has joined the Financial Times as senior Wall Street correspondent from Bloomberg, where he reported on investment banking.

Wells started his career on Petroleum Argusans, writing on the US petrol markets, and went on to cover stock markets, the oil industry and energy. Wells replaces Joshua Chaffin who has been appointed the FT’s Washington business correspondent.

The FT’s US managing editor, Lionel Barber, commented: “David is a talented and tenacious reporter with a strong track record for breaking financial news stories and analysing the key financial issues. He will spearhead our coverage of the US markets and, in these turbulent times, will make sure our readers inside and outside the US get the best possible news, comment, insight and analysis from Wall Street.”
